Camp provides wonderful opportunities to serve. We need hardworking,
responsible, emotionally mature, and service oriented teen and adult help
at camp this year.
All staff members share in the responsibility of achieving the primary purpose
and goals of this camp. Whether you’re a counselor, assistant counselor or
activity coordinator please read this manual
and become familiar with our purpose and procedures. We will accomplish our
goals to the extent that everything done at camp supports our overall purpose.
Our success depends on each of us, as individuals, working together in full
agreement and harmony with the general guidelines described in this document.
HAVE FUN. . . by providing an opportunity for children to enjoy God’s way of
life in the recreational environment of an adult-supervised Christian Summer
Camp.
HAVE FUN . . . by providing children with an opportunity to develop leadership
skills as they interact with other children and adults in our camp environment.
As a staff member, you are expected to help achieve these objectives:
-
Teach campers spiritual values by word and practice
-
Keep campers safe
-
Make activities fun
-
Support the structure established at camp in a positive manner
-
Initiate positive relationships with as many campers as possible
Because space at Camp Tomahawk is very limited for both workers and campers, we
may not be able to accept all applicants. Workers should be very hard working,
caring individuals who can put in long days if needed. Special consideration
will be given to those who possess a specific skill that is needed, such as
first aid, CPR certified, and life guarding.
Please keep the following key dates in mind.
-
May 1st - Applications must be postmarked
-
May 2nd - Acceptance letters begin to go out
-
July 19th - Staff Orientation (required) begins at sundown
-
